Jamie Saunders will be key in Sunday game at Slade Park

CRICKET: Jamie Saunders will be a key player as the Redbacks press for victory against Maryvale Condamine in tomorrow's Condamine Cup 40-over round.

Saunders is rated one of the top batsman in the association and one of the only ones in recent memory to score a Schaeffer Shield century.

He scored 60 in last week's Redbacks win against Inglewood in the T20 competition.

Redbacks captain Tyhe Clarkson is unavailable as he and wife Leana welcomed a baby boy on Thursday.

The skipper will be looking after their 15-month-old daughter so Daniel Bowles will captain the team for the first time.

"We have our two best batsmen this season playing this weekend, Jamie Saunders and Coen Slatter,” he said.

"Maryvale will be tough, they haven't lost a game.

"The main threat to us is Dave Walker, who has been bowling sharply all season. We just don't need a batting collapse.”

Maryvale captain Andrew Ryan said, other than all rounder Mitch Bourke who is at Toowoomba Grammar School, all players were available.

He isn't fazed by the unbeaten tag.

"You never aim to lose any game, I don't feel any more pressure,” he said.

DRAW: Saturday 12.15pm

Wheatvale v Allora Rascals at Allora

Colts v Inglewood at Slade Park

Allora v Sovereign at Queens Park Turf.

Sunday 10.15am:
