Josh had a smile after kicking dream goal

YOU see miracle goals on the sports highlight on television but not too often in real life.

Josh Aspinall made sure I did see a miracle goal in real life when he kicked one from 40 metres in the Carlton game against Warwick at Queens Park on Tuesday night.

It went into the top left-hand corner of the goal past the outstretched fingers of the goalie.

Better still, it was his first goal in men's football.

Josh has been playing since the age of four and it was great to see him achieve what many footballers dream of, a long-range goal.

It was my first time at a game under the new lights and I was definitely impressed.

Better still; the field is now closer to the clubhouse and the mound which provides a great watching area.

I was impressed with the positive way Carlton coach and president Ian Dopson was talking up the efforts of his colts in seniors, Josh Aspinall, Aiden Fox and Corey Jordan.
