Judges 'dazzled' by lights

THE Clarke family's festive lights have lit up the sky and faces of visitors to Bertram St these past two weeks, and it would seem they dazzled the judges at the Christmas Lights competition too.

The Clarke family, with their ice-skating penguins and endless decorations, was named the Best House winner for the 2011 Christmas Lights competition.

Judge Di Crowe, from Bank of Queensland, said the Bertram St home stood out.

"They had a whole lot of different things; their lights were unique compared to all the others," she said.

"It was really tough (to choose a winner though) - quite a few stood out and they are very different when comparing the small displays to large displays.

"I think there might need to be a new category next year for the different sizes."
