Juices ready to flow in Warwick
THE building is finished and the internal fit-out is complete, and it's only a matter of weeks before Grove Juice Factory at the Axis Industrial Estate opens, says managing director Greg Willis.
"We would like to think we would be operational two weeks before Christmas," he said.
Mr Willis said the factory would start the juicing and bottling operation when new extractors arrived from overseas.
He said the factory had staff at the ready for the factory opening, with Warwick locals and people from the Stanthorpe area being taken on board.
"We will employ about six people," he said.
He said everything had progressed smoothly and he was happy with the December opening date.
Mr Willis said the Southern Downs Regional Council needed a "big rap" after they worked hard to get the approvals through for the operation.
Mr Willis had told the Daily News they planned to bottle on site, so no juice was being freighted to Brisbane.
"We are the only Australian-owned juice company actively investing in "farm to fridge" vertical investment in our industry," he said.
The fruit - amounting to 500,000 apples and oranges each day - will come from Stanthorpe and Moree.
