Netballers prepare for rep games

BARNES Park will be swamped with about 430 eager junior netball players on April 18 when the Warwick Netball Association hosts its first inter-district carnival for the year.

Forty-eight teams will come from places including Downlands College, Laidley, The Glennie School, Lockyer, Goondiwindi and Stanthorpe.

Warwick Netball Association under 12s representative side co-coach Nancy De Prada said the inter-district carnivals were rotated through each of the areas which participate.

She said come April 18, games would kick off about 8.30am and play right through until about 4.30pm.

Age groups competing will be opens, 13-14 years, 15-16 years and 11-12 years.

The Warwick representative teams were on Saturday training at Barnes Park in preparation for the carnival.
