Juniors play in the rain

DESPITE a constant drizzle of rain the Warwick Hockey Association junior season commenced Saturday morning, with players taking part in under sevens, 10s and 13s matches.

Junior chairman Gary Millard said for the next two weeks the kids will take part in grading matches before being assigned to a specific team.

He said about 80 children had already signed on for the 2010 season which will continue through until September with breaks for school holidays.

A very wet Millard said the kids did not mind playing in the rain and said because of the surface it did not affect the games.

He joked the only weather that would probably have stopped the season from commencing was lightning and hail.
