Karara Sheep Dog Trials start Friday

THERE is plenty of sport on the Southern Downs that involves animals and this weekend it will be the Karara Sheep Dog Trials.

Australian representative Geoff Gibson from Junabee, together with Jim and Rhonda O'Connell from Winton, will compete straight after returning from the Australian championships in Western Australia.

Gibson and Jim O'Connell were part of the Australian team that went down in the series to New Zealand last week.

Action at Karara starts at 7am Friday and again early Saturday and Sunday.

Finals will be on Sunday afternoon as well as an encouragement trial.

Some sports will resume this weekend after the rodeo including club cricket.

It is likely there will be practice on the motocross track at Morgan Park on Sunday but riders are advised to check the Warwick Motox Facebook page on the Sunday morning before heading to the track.

The next major event at Morgan Park will be a bike meeting on November 12-13.
