Key Saturday Redbacks match scheduled in Dalby

AUSSIE RULES: The Warwick Redbacks will travel to Dalby in a must-win game in the Darling Downs AFL competition this Saturday.

Club president Ben Lubben said his club was in a four-way battle for third and fourth.

"We have to keep winning and improve our percentage,” he said.

Playoffs for top four positions are rare in Aussie rules in a sport where a lot of emphasis is placed on points/against percentage.

On percentage, Warwick is currently fifth.

Lubben said Warwick had an easy win against Dalby in the round 1 game in Warwick.

"Dalby can still turn up with a strong team, they have some good players and can push us on Saturday,” he said.

In the season's final month, Warwick has away games against Dalby and South Toowoomba, home games against Highfields and Chinchilla and a bye.

Last season, Warwick went into the second-division grand final as favourites but were outplayed by winners Dalby in the second half.

With all teams now in one division, Warwick has been boosted by the return of Tyhe Clarkson and the Iles brothers, Brendan and Shane. Matty Watson is a new player starring in midfield and Mitch Darton has also joined the squad this year and is playing strongly.
