Kickin' their boots for cancer fund

THE Warwick and District Country Music Club will once again take to the stage this Sunday, this time to raise money for cancer.

The day's profits will go towards the local cancer foundation.

Secretary Ev Eastwell said almost everyone has been affected by cancer.

"There are not many families that haven't been affected by cancer," she said.

"They (the foundation) are in much need of funds for research, accommodation for family members and to provide support."

This is not the first charity event the Warwick and District Country Music Club have held and it will not be the last.

"It's just what our music club does, it's our way of giving back to the community," Ms Eastwell said.

The Concert for Cancer will kick off at 11am and run until 5pm.

There is a $6 entry price that includes a barbecue lunch, sweets, tea and coffee and there will be more than 40 multi-draw raffle prizes to be won.

Ms Eastwell is expecting a crowd of more than 100.

"We raised $1800 for domestic violence in April and we are hoping to beat that," she said.
