Kicking off the season with stellar centuries
CENTURIES by Brett McEvoy from the RSL Diggers and Tony Munro from the Sovereign Animals set up convincing wins for their sides in the first round of the Condamine Cup on Saturday.
Tony Munro batted the entire innings to score 139 not out in his side's 3-290 against the Railway Hotel Rascals at Allora.
Munro combined with Ben Pillar (66) in a partnership of 165 runs.
In reply, the Railway Hotel Rascals were dismissed for 46 runs as Anthony Nero took 5-18, and Scott McCulloch 4-11 to set up a 244 run win.
Andrew Boal top scored with 26 runs for the Rascals.
Brett McEvoy scored 100 not out off 56 balls for the Diggers, as his side made 6-296 off their 40 overs.
McEvoy received good support from Jeff Morris who scored 70 runs.
In reply, the Warwick Hotel Colts were dismissed for 38, with Geoff Thorley top scoring with 22 runs.
Luke Cullen was the best of the Diggers bowlers, with 4-4 off five overs.
In the match at Slade Park, Maryvale-Condamine defeated Wheatvale by 75 runs.
Maryvale batted first and made 2-205 off their allotted overs with Michael Bourke (97) and Jordan Siebenhausen (73) combining in a partnership of 172 runs.
Ty Jenner was the best of the Wheatvale bowers with 1-19.
In reply, Wheatvale managed 9-130 with Jon Colfs top scoring with 26 runs.
Cameron Stevens also made a useful 23 runs.
Joshua Ryan took 3-32 off 7 overs.
Thomas Campbell picked up a wicket in his debut game for Maryvale.
