Kids add special touches for bush dance

WITH the school year coming to an end very quickly, primary children at The School of Total Education are getting ready and excited about their school end of year function - a Bush Dance.

For weeks now, the children have been busy focusing on ways they can help.

Decorations for the auditorium have been their task and they have organised and managed themselves well.

Teacher Sophia Lightfoot said she was amazed and thrilled at the way the children were so enthusiastic about helping.

"I was concerned that some of the decorative ideas may have been too difficult, but even the younger children in grade 2 have wanted to have a go," she said.

The children are using many new skills and techniques with such simple materials as paper, pipe cleaners, staples, sticky tape and scissors.

They have created beautiful bows, wreaths, paper chains and pom poms.

The children can't wait to see their creations decorating the walls of the auditorium adding a Christmassy atmosphere to the Bush Dance this weekend.
