Kids getting crafty at the library

THE Warwick Library has been a hive of activity this week, and it had nothing to do with books.

Up to 25 kids and their parents spent Wednesday morning participating in a busy craft activity as part of the library's free school holiday program.

Librarian Marianne Potter said the activities were in high demand these holidays.

"We try to do an activity for the kids every school holidays," she said.

"It's lovely for the kids to be creative and a nice way to encourage kids to see the library."

Among the excited children enjoying their school holidays was Phoebe Thumpkin.

Phoebe said she had been doing lots on the holidays.

"It's really fun putting paper together and making things," she said.

The kids made a number of items- from Easter bunny masks to colourful paper Easter eggs. For those kids who missed out on the craft activity, there's plenty more happening at the library.

"We have an activity table for the kids," Ms Potter said

"There's always something for kids to do here."

Activities continue at the Warwick, Allora and Stanthorpe libraries, with daily treasure hunts and activities up to April 17.
