Kids play with their food for show competition

CHILDREN should begin planning their entries into the vegetable animal competition at the JJ Richards and Sons 2017 Stanthorpe Show.

Sponsored by Sam's Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, the competition is open to all primary school aged children.

Categories are as follows:

Prep: Create a creature from fruit/vegetables.

Year 1: Create a creature from fruit/vegetables.

Year 2: Create a creature from fruit/vegetables.

Year 3: Create a creature from fruit/vegetables.

Year 4: A4 collage (with texture) depicting local fruit.

Year 5: A4 collage (with texture) depicting local fruit.

Year 6: A4 size poster to market local fruit/ vegetables.

All entries are individual and there is no cost to enter.

Entries must be at the fruit and vegetable pavilion by 4pm on Thursday, February 2.

Prizemoney is $10 for first prize, $8 for second and $6 for third in each age category.

Entries will be judged on originality of design and overall presentation.
