Kids spin new skills at Warwick Potters workshop

THE Warwick Potters are spinning into a new year of creative fun with a kids' workshop this weekend.

President Raye Batham is encouraging boys and girls from across the Southern Downs to try their hand at pottery.

Tomorrow's workshop is open to children eight years and older.

Mrs Batham said the workshops would be held on the first Saturday of each month.

"We're doing an Easter activity this Saturday," she said.

"Kids can come along and learn a new skill and have a bit of fun - it's another interest for them outside of sport."

With the Warwick Show just around the corner, Mrs Batham said children could also make pieces for the show.

"It's a good way to show off their wares," she said.

This year the Warwick Potters hope more of the workshop participants will become junior members of the club.

Mrs Batham said as junior members, children could get learn the four stages of pottery.
