Kids start 2016 netball season with sign-on

The 2016 Warwick Netball Association junior season will start on Saturday with a sign-on at Barnes Park.

The sign-on from 10am–1pm will cater for players, aged five–14.

Boys are welcome to join and can play in the same competition as the girls up to age 12.

The competition, which starts on February 20, will be played each Saturday afternoon at Barnes Park in Matthews St, Glennie Heights.

Games will be played in NetSetGo for players aged five to seven.

The midgets grade will cater for players eight and nine and then other players will be in junior B and junior B grades.

Association secretary Linda Bunch said junior B was more for 10 and 11 year olds, with the older girls in junior A.

The Warwick association is supporting a Give It A Go competition at The Scots PGC on a Saturday morning in term 1.

“We are hoping the kids will have a go at the Scots PGC-run competition in the mornings and then join up with the association for Saturday afternoon play,” Bunch said.

“The association competition will go right through to September.”

Some of the Warwick juniors will play in the first round of the Darling Downs Inter-district Netball at Barnes Park on March 13. Inter-district teams have been selected and all are training for the five-round competition.

This will be the biggest day of netball in Warwick this year, with 50 teams expected from as far as Goondiwindi, Fassifern, Dalby and Laidley.

Anyone unable to come tomorrow welcome to email warwicknetball@bigpond.com or phone 0407734380.
