Killarney Cutters flying in for shield game on Saturday
RUGBY LEAGUE: Bradley Green and Jake Kitching will fly in to Brisbane tomorrow and drive to Killarney for the Cutters clash with the Warwick Cowboys at Charlie Andrews Oval at 6pm that night in the Xylon Smith Memorial Shield game.
Green works at Moranbah and Kitching is now based in Rockhampton.
Three of Xylon's brothers, John Trindall, Zurich Smith and Michael Marshall will play in tomorrow's memorial game. Marshall is travelling from Port Macquarie as his hometown club aims to win the shield on a fund-raising day for beyondblue.
Cutters president Aaron McKinney said even though Green was working away, he planned to play as many 2017 club games as possible.
"Bradley is keen to stop the attacking raids of Dion Galloway for the Cowboys,” McKinney said.
"We are hoping many of the fans will eat at the canteen to help club coffers.”
Killarney is averaging 23 players at training. Warwick is fresh from a 24-18 victory against Wattles in Barrett Shield.
