Killarney Show not getting bogged down on wet weekend

A WET weekend hasn't been enough to dampen spirits in the Killarney community as crowds started to turn out for the 106th annual show.

After the Friday night show rodeo was called off due to rain, organisers were quick to announce Saturday's program would go ahead with an early-morning Facebook post.

Rain was sporadic throughout Saturday morning and into the afternoon, but show-goers took it in their stride, moving to find shelter when the short-lived showers fell.

In all, spirits were high, especially among the children, who loved the side-show alley and the reptile show, which had fans gasping.

The pavilion was packed, as a shelter from the elements and a great place to see the heart and soul of the Killarney community on display.

Tonight's program includes entertainment in the arena from 6pm, followed by the fireworks from 8pm and the smash up derby from 8.30pm.

Following that, stick around for live entertainment until midnight.

Don't forget to wear appropriate footwear as the grounds are muddy underfoot.
