Killarney warned of break-in spree

A SERIAL thief is suspected to be active in Killarney after police received reports of a fifth car break-in in just over a week.

KillarneyPolice Sergeant Trevor Gordon said Monday night's incident followed aspate of similar reports in the township early last week.

In themost recent break-in, a person or persons smashed the side window of avehicle parked outside a private residence in Acacia Street.

Sgt Gordon said several items were reported stolen from the car.

He said the incident followed an initial report on July 13 of the theft of fuel and other items from a vehicle in Ivy Street.

“A story ran in the Daily News andwe then received reports of three other similar incidents whichhappened at three different locations on the same night,” he said.

“All the incidents have happened where vehicles have been parked on private property, outside residences,” Sgt Gordon said.
