Kindy Easter tradition a delight
MICHELLE Spence hasn't missed an Easter party in the seven years she has had children at the Warwick Community Kindergarten.
Mrs Spence said her 10 and eight-year-old sons had been through kindy.
“Matthew is four and is now at kindy,” she said.
“Each year there are four events at kindy – the Easter party, movie night, Teddy Bears Picnic and Christmas party.
“They are all great family days and we encourage children who aren't at kindy to come along with their parents and siblings.”
Kindergarten publicity officer Nikki Farrell said there were about 80 children, including siblings, at the Easter party on Sunday and almost as many parents and grandparents.
“It has been hot for the Easter Bunny but a fabulous day,” Ms Farrell said.
“The kids all did well with the Easter egg hunt and the children were making Easter ears during the week and at home.
“My son Jack was very excited when the Easter Bunny turned up.”
There are 77 children at the kindy, split into four groups. Each group attends five days a fortnight.
Amanda Pierce said her son Lachlan had been pestering her since he got out of bed on Sunday to go to the Easter party.
With Lachlan, four, daughter Emma, two, and son Riley, five months, she expects to be at plenty of Easter parties down the years.
“I have worked out I have two gaps of a year at kindy,” she said.
