Kids switch on to vital signs

A GENEROUS grant awarded to Warwick Community Kindergarten has gone towards educating the younger generations about road safety and teaching director Jenny Drewett said she was excited.

The $4676 NRMA Insurance grant has been used for the purchase of new tricycles, bike helmets, stop signs and traffic lights.

"It's been fabulous," Mrs Drewett said.

"Everything we have bought has been road safety related.

"It has enabled us to focus a bit more on road safety."

Mrs Drewett said the grant was also being used to fund a visit from the Queensland Ambulance Service.

"They will be coming to check child restraints in cars," she said. "Parents will be able to book into have them inspected."

Mrs Drewett said the kids were enjoying all the road safety related activities including singing, puzzles, books and the new road playmat.

This year NRMA Insurance has donated more than $100,000 to 16 Queensland community groups.
