Kindy holds open day

JIA O’Dea didn’t want to leave her first experience at kindergarten yesterday after having a taste of what’s in store next year when the Warwick Community Kindergarten opened its doors.

When asked by the Daily News what was her favourite activity, she couldn’t help but excitedly announce playing with the glue while making her sparkling craft plate.

Kindergarten president Kerri Walters couldn’t have been happier with the turn out for the open day with cars lining the street as people came to see what the school had to offer.

“There are 45 names in only half an hour of it being opened – it’s all going really well,” Mrs Walters said as she welcomed eager three-year-olds through the doors.

“There are children everywhere and they have mostly wandered off from their parents to have a play and explore.”

Mrs Walters said she was impressed with the attendance after the changes to the kindergarten system implemented by the government recently.

“It’s good to see the community has accepted those changes,” she said.
