Kingaroy girls go get ’em at Pentath-run

WITH their pink shirts and positive attitudes, one group of Pentath runners stood out among the crowd.

Seventeen members of the Kingaroy Go Getta Girls running group travelled to compete in the pentath-run.

Several of the women competed in all five events, with a number making good times.

For Go Getta Girl Donna Clark, this year’s Pentath-run was her sixth.

“Race three is always hard but it’s my favourite,” she said.

“I can’t believe the number of people this year.

“It’s twice as many as last year.”

Mrs Clark said for some of the girls it was their first event.

“I keep telling them how great the Pentath-run is,” she said.

Two of the oldest members of the Go Getta Girls took up running a lot later in life.

Seventy-five-year-old Angela Clarke started running at 50 and 62-year-old Lynne Skinner started at 59.

Mrs Clark said both Angela and Lynne inspired other members of the group, which was made up of women of all different ages and fitness levels.

“We encourage all of our members to give it a go,” she said.
