Kobe Miller ready for APRA junior finals in Emerald

DEUCHAR rider Kobe Miller will fly the Warwick flag at the July 7-8 Junior National Finals Series Rodeo in the Australian Professional Rodeo Association.

He leads the junior team roping heeler standings going into the finals which will be contested over three rounds in Emerald.

Kobe has been outstanding in the APRA in roping as well as in team roping association competitions.

The top-10 in steer riding, team roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping and the rope and tie have qualified for the finals in Emerald.

The Emerald open rodeo on July 8 will be the first on the Northern Run, which finishes at Mt Isa on August 11-13.

Top champs

WELL done to the 19 riders from our area who competed in the Queensland Interschool Championships in Toowoomba this week.

They competed in all available disciplines at the titles, dressage, showman, show horse and show jumping.

Scots PGC has the largest contingent with 16 riders - Sophie Brennan, Brooke Wilson, Holly Wickham, Bridget Hegerty, Georgia Rhode, Maddie Mathies, Phoebe Sellick, Arena Wheeler, Pip Wolstenholme, Tye Wickham, Max Keable, Felicity Sellick, Tom Keable, Bryce McKenzie and Anna Hegerty.

Assumption was represented by Olivia Sutton and Abby Grayson while Bridget Noble flew the Warwick State High School flag.

The riders all competed well in this year's Darling Downs championships and were vying for state team spots in the championships in Toowoomba. Some of our riders were placed.
