Lack of rain is a concern for Warwick
WARWICK resident Shane Pritchard hears about the need for rain from both sides of his family.
"They have farms and are talking about how dry it is," Mr Pritchard said.
"We live in town and you can see how dry our garden is."
Yesterday, they spent time at Leslie Park with cousins from Ipswich, the McKinnons, who shared the same concerns about the dry weather.
Rosena McKinnon said she couldn't let their children use scooters in their backyard due to cracks in the soil.
"You could see how dry it was when we drove to Warwick on Saturday," she said.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Andrew Bufalino said yesterday isolated showers and thunderstorms were forecast until Thursday on the Southern Downs and Granite Belt.
"Storms are hit and miss so falls can vary but there should be some falls up to 20mm." Mr Bufalino said.
"Anyone under a heavy storm could receive a larger rainfall registration," he said.
Winds will be light to moderate north-west to north-east.
Forecast
- Isolated showers and thunderstorms until Thursday.
- Rain prediction - up to 20mm, more in the event of a heavy storm.
