Ladies rally behind Water Rats

IT’S been five years since the Warwick Water Rats have donned the back and white on their home paddock in A-grade but Saturday’s game was extra special for the club captain with the presence of one particular lady cheering on the side-line.

Water Rats club captain Ryan Smith’s grandmother Joan follows him across the Darling Downs lending her support.

“Last week we all went to Dalby to watch them play,” Mrs Smith said.

“He’s my only grandson and I like to see him play.”

To mark their return to A-grade competition the Water Rats declared Saturday ladies’ day.

With bubbly in hand, the ladies swooped on the Warwick and District Rugby Union Club at Risdon Oval.
