Ladies welcome for social squash
SQUASH: The second muster for Warwick Ladies Social Squash is on at the courts in Guy St tomorrow night.
The group held their first muster last week and secretary Jill Hume said there were places available for more players.
Warwick Ladies Social Squash is held each Thursday during school terms with first games at 6.30pm.
While the competition is very social, a points table is kept and awards presented at the end of each season to the premiers and line winners.
The great thing with squash is that players are pitted against other players of similar standards on each line.
Hume said play went from 6.30pm to around 9pm each week.
"Last season, we played two short games a night rather than one which helps improve our play and enabled us to interact with more players," Hume said.
"After play each night, we had nibblies and a chat so it is not all about the squash.
"Children are welcome if circumstances mean they have to come on the night.
"It is a night away from weekly stresses for many of the women. It gives them a chance to be themselves and do a bit of fitness work at the same time."
All welcome to the second muster tomorrow night at the courts almost opposite Red Rooster in Guy St.
Any unable to attend the muster but keen to play is welcome to call Hume on 0414 303 905.
Players unable to play each week can be listed as subs and will play many matches.
