Large grass fire on highway
UPDATE, 5PM: Eight fire crews are on the scene of a large grass fire on the New England Highway at The Glen, south of Warwick.
Reports indicate the fire started around 12.30pm.
Both lanes of the highway have been closed as a result of the blaze and the Queensland Police Service are managing diversions.
The highway was reopened at 5.30pm and we understand it is still open though could be closed again as backburning continues.
There is understood to be no immediate threat to property, although at least one residence was evacuated early afternoon.
