Large partnership secures win for Maryvale at Inglewood

CRICKET: Maryvale-Condamine cricket captain Andrew Ryan told the Daily News last week his team enjoyed the chance to head to Inglewood and usually performed well.

He was right - Maryvale travelled the 100km plus to Inglewood and conquered.

Inglewood was under strength on a weekend some teams were hit with players unavailable due to Schoolies Week.

Batting first, Inglewood made 96 in 21 overs, Sam Martin hitting 36 and Brad Gibson 28.

Mitch Mack was the best bowler for Maryvale with 2-4 off one over. Paceman Dave Walker took 2-17 off five overs.

In reply, Maryvale made 1-130 in 10 overs for an easy victory.

Mitch Bourke top scored with an unbeaten 63 and Jason Steketee hit 53 not out. Jamien Smith stood out like a beacon among the Inglewood bowlers taking 1-23 off four overs.
