AUSSIE RULES: Warwick maintained a share of third after scoring an 86 to 47 victory against Dalby in Dalby on Saturday.

Warwick coach Peter Millard spoke highly of the efforts of his team after they went to Dalby with 16 players out due to injuries, work and personal commitments.

" Marty Bakon had a bye with the Cowboys and played his first game of Aussie rules for the Redbacks,” Millard said.

"He has a tonne of pace and went well. Redbacks cricketer David Brady pulled on a jersey for the first time and played well along with Steven Blowes who played his first game for seven years.”

The three who played their first games for the season on Saturday with have to play three competition games to qualify for the finalsd.

Alex Cutmore in ruck, Kris Millard in midfield and Andrew Politch at fullback were the best for Warwick.

The Redbacks play Highfields Lions at home next Saturday at Chinchilla Suns at home the Saturday after before a bye and then a game against second-placed South Toowoomba.

In other games, leaders USQ beat Chinchilla by 149 points, South Toowoomba beat Highfields by 286 points, South Burnett defeated Toowoomba Tigers by 179 points and Goondiwind beat Coolaroo by 24 points.

Warwick, South Burnett and Goondiwindi are all equal third on the ladder and Coolaroo sixth. South Burnett improved their percentage with an easy win in a competition where the top-four could be determined by percentage.
