Late try needed to seal the win in the BRL season decider

RUGBY LEAGUE: Inglewood made it back-to-back premierships in the Border Rugby League after scoring a 38-30 victory against Tenterfield at Inglewood on Saturday.

Inglewood led all the way before Tenterfield reduced the margin to two points late in the game.

Shane Hooper scored the final try for Inglewood to seal the game for the home side.

Hooper played in the inside backs and back row for Inglewood to win man of the match.

BRL president Norm Crisp said Hooper received great support from his captain-coach Brent Osborne and Jamie Meddings.

"Coedie Tandy was a standout out in a losing team and Geoff Swan also played well at five-eighth,” he said.

"Some of the players off the bench had a major impact for Tenterfield. The defence from both sides was hard.”
