Visitors treated to activities
WITH Warwick rolling out the welcome mat for the Zone 5 Under 43kg Junior Rugby League Carnival, there is plenty of action to keep visitors and supporters entertained – both on and off the field.
The carnival kicked off yesterday, with registration at Father Ranger Oval. Weigh-in was at 2pm, followed by team photographs and a meet-and-greet where team coaches/managers received official welcome packs to distribute to all players.
Included in these packs were carnival itinerary/information booklets, the official carnival armband, flyers on WIRAC, and the carnival program.
This morning all teams will be congregating at the band rotunda, Leslie Park, Palmerin Street at 8am for a civic welcome to Warwick by our mayor, Ron Bellingham.
From there the teams will march along the footpath to Father Ranger Oval where the carnival will be officially opened by Australian representative rugby league player, Greg Platz.
The first game of the carnival kicks off at 9am.

Wednesday afternoon is a free afternoon, where activities at venues such as WIRAC or the Warwick Twin Cinema can be attended.
A schnitzel night at the Warwick RSL has been organised for Wednesday night.
Again, come on down and enjoy the hospitality.
