Leaguetag team favoured to win BRL grand final on Sunday
RUGBY LEAGUE: Is Wayne Minns the most successful coach in a rugby league club in Australia?
Don't have the answer but he sure would go close.
On Sunday, he and his leaguetag ladies team from Tenterfield can complete three seasons without a loss in the Border Rugby League when they meet Wallangarra at Inglewood in the grand final.
Leaguetag was first played in the BRL in 2014 and Tenterfield has so far won both premierships.
On Sunday, the Tenterfield side will play Wallangarra in a local derby in the grand final at Inglewood at 12.30pm.
Meg Landers and Sophie Cooper are two of the Tenterfield stand-outs week-in, week-out, in leaguetag.
Shane Binney is coach of the Wallangarra team.
One of the stars of the season is captain Claudia Binney who has 200 tags in 2016 after playing most of the season at hooker.
Patricia McGrady is vice-captain and controls the play from five-eighth.
While Wallangarra withdrew from the BRL men's competition in the aftermath of the temporary closure of the town's abattoir, the ladies have carried on to keep the Rams' colours flying high.
Tenterfield will start favourites in leaguetag but Wallangarra is an improving team.
