LeBron scores another first as Cavs handle Heat

BASKETBALL: Fifteen seasons, more than 1300 games including playoffs, and now one ejection.

LeBron James found himself unceremoniously booted from Cleveland's 108-97 win against Miami after a referee refused to put up with his chatter.

James complained vigorously after getting a no-call on contact from Heat guard Dion Waiters on a move near the rim. He followed the ref up the court to remonstrate and quickly earned an early shower.

"I don't know what happened,” teammate Kyle Korver said post-game.

"It's funny, when you're not on LeBron's team you think 'man, that guy gets every call'. And when you come on his team you're like 'man, that guy never gets any calls'.

"I think he was trying to prove his point. I don't know what was said but obviously we'd rather have him on the court.”

Cleveland was leading 93-70 when James was ejected. He had tallied 21 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and five steals.

Dwyane Wade eliminated any fear of a Miami comeback with eight fourth-quarter points as he continued his strong form off the bench with 17 points, five rebounds and four assists in 28 minutes.

But Kevin Love was the star of this game for Cleveland (14-7), pouring in 22 points in the first quarter on his way to 38 points and nine rebounds.

Waiters led the Heat (10-10) with 21 points and seven assists.
