Left-arm bowlers could be key for Warwick in Mitchell Shield

CRICKET: The Warwick Mitchell Shield side will have three left-arm bowlers in the 11 for the clash with Central Downs at Slade Park on Sunday.

Victoria Hill all rounder Brodie Frizzell bowls accurate left-arm medium pace along with captain Scott McLennan and the experienced Michael Bourke.

McLennan is captaining the Warwick side for a second time and is in some of the best form of his career.

Some could call his bowling fast spin, others who describe it as slow medium pace, but the main factor for Warwick is his accuracy and economical overs.

Jamie Saunders has played A-grade cricket at the Gold Coast this season and will return home to keep wickets for Warwick and be a key batsman at the top of the order.

Lachlan Gross hit a Mitchell Shield century last season and will be one of the Warwick trumps with the bat.

Spectators welcome to watch cricket from air conditioned clubhouse at Slade Park.

The Warwick Davis Shield team has a bye this weekend.

No Condamine Cup Warwick club cricket games are scheduled this weekend.

WARWICK TEAM: Scott McLennan (captain), Jason Steketee, Carter Bilbrough, Michael Bourke, Mitch Bourke, Tom Bourke, Brodie Frizzell, Harrison Glasgow, Lachlan Gross, Andrew McConnell, Jamie Saunders (wicketkeeper)
