Dam cafe set to open

THEIR aim is to own a family-operated, community-based café.

So where else but beside Leslie Dam where customers could sit back and relax on the veranda and take in the views of Leslie Dam?

Managers Vincent and Darline Gatti plan on creating a one-stop café and fisherman’s shop.

There will be coffee, home-made food, bait and fishing gear.

“We certainly see a great opportunity for a business,” Mr Gatti said.

“I’ve already got some ideas to make the café stand out, such as holding a big fisherman’s breakfast.”

Mr Gatti said he wanted to keep prices real.

“I’ve been in retail for many, many years and the way you keep people coming back is to have the food high quality and affordable.

“I want the café to be somewhere people will bring their families on a Sunday, somewhere to relax and enjoy,” he said.

“It’s an absolutely beautiful spot and we want everyone to feel welcome and like a family.”

The new café is only a couple of months away from opening.
