Life proves a cabaret for Warwick entertainer and her fans

THERE was plenty of glitz and glamour among the crowd in the Joie De Vivre restaurant on Wednesday, as owner and songbird Deeny Kohler-Caporale jazzed up her monthly cabaret show.

Regulars and new faces joined the audience at the Putting on the Glitz show, which continues to grow in popularity around the Rose City.

Among the crowd was a group of fabulous ladies from Pittsworth, who travel to the King St restaurant each month for the show.

Lyn Vernon said she and the other ladies make a day of it, enjoying lunch and the show.

"The show and the morning tea is just so great," she said.

"The last show was called Putting on the Blitz - it was just magic."

Travelling all the way from Yorkshire for her impending nuptials, bride-to-be Valerie Prentice brought some of her quirky style to the crowd.

"The people are so good here," she said.

"The country people are just good solid people."

Ms Prentice is preparing herself for her Australian wedding - an Alice in Wonderland Steam Punk theme celebration in early October.

Wednesday's show included music from Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland, as well as the usual stand-up comedy in Deeny's usual fun and frivolous style.
