Lifeline relocates to deliver better service to community

OFFICIALS, staff and guests gathered for the official opening of the Lifeline Darling Downs and South West Queensland Warwick office yesterday.

CEO Derek Tuffield said the service needed to move to be more accessible and provide more useable room for staff.

"Happy staff means better services and happier clients," Mr Tuffield said.

Coordinated accommodation support worker Sue Hamlet said the Wood St office had four programs on offer, including the Personal Helpers and Mentors Service (PHAMS), Coordinated Accommodation Support Program (CASP), Gambling Help and Financial Counselling.

Christof Psarros, who engaged with Lifeline for bi-polar support, said the PHAMS program was excellent.

"They help you to set goals and get your life back on track," Mr Psarros said.

"They help you modify your highs and lows to level off."

PHAMS senior practitioner Terry Pinney praised the Warwick team and other local support services.

"We can only be effective as part of such a good community of support," he said.

Andrew Skilton shared his story of success, saying his personal journey was amazing.

Mayor Peter Blundell thanked the community groups in attendance for their service to the community.
