LIGHTS, CAMERA: Police zoom in on main Warwick intersection
POLISH those pearly whites, Warwick - you're on camera.
Two new traffic infringement cameras have been installed on intersection of Albion and Fitzroy streets and will snap anyone speeding or running a red light.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads installed the two cameras on May 12.
With a known crash history, the major intersection was selected as one of 10 places around Queensland that would benefit from a new project in conjunction with the Queensland Police.
A spokesperson from the Department of Transport said the cameras will detect speeding vehicles and those running red lights and fines will be relevant to these offences.
The fine for failing to stop at a red or yellow traffic light is $378 and 3 demerit points.
Driving less than 13km/h over the speed limit will land you with a $168 fine.
That penalty goes up to $252 when a person is found driving between 13/km and 20km/h over the speed limit.
The speed limit along Albion St is 60km per hour.
