Lily Allen’s Xmas gift disaster
LILY Allen has been left devastated on the discovery that presents for her two daughters won't arrive in time for Christmas.
The 32-year-old singer, declared that she found herself in a bit of trouble in a series of tweets that revealed she didn't realise her card expired so the online purchases weren't complete, reports The Sun.
Her gifts included four Barbie doll sets for girls Ethel, 6, and Marnie, 4, including a beauty table and dolls house.
Posting a grab of her Amazon account alerting her that payment revision was needed, the star wrote: "F****** . When your card expires and you don't check your emails."
Fans were quick to send well wishes despite the error, and urged her to remain positive.
One wrote: Oh no!!! I am sure you will be able to work everything out in time! You could always say Santa dropped off presents he forgot if that's still an option lol! Good luck! Happy holidays"
Christmas this year has proven to be somewhat of a nightmare for the singer, who had previously announced she was going to be left "homeless" after lodgers in her A$2.6 million North London flat asked for more time to move out.
She wrongly claimed the Italian tenants were pleading diplomatic immunity to avoid eviction from the North London pad.
Allen said in a now deleted post: "Meant to be moving back into my flat this week, but my tenants just dropped that they can't find anywhere to go up to their standards.
"Then they said they're diplomats and have diplomatic immunity and there's nothing I can do about it. So, who fancies a family of 3 for Xmas?"
She was then mocked online for complaining that she couldn't move back to her multimillion-dollar home because of the wealthy foreign diplomat couple staying there.
But tenant Maria, a photographer and mum-of-three, told The Sun she had already agreed to move out on Wednesday and just asked for a couple of days longer.
She said: "We are going to leave. I just asked for a couple of days. I'm really astonished. I don't know why she did this.
"We are diplomats. But I don't want to make trouble to our embassy. This is so stupid. I can't believe this."
Lily bought the ground floor two-bed flat for $1.5 million in 2008 and similar properties in the area are worth around $2.6 million.
Fans poked fun at Lily's tweet with one branding her a "champagne socialist".
