Lions to share their skills

ANYONE keen to meet the Brisbane Lions AFL contingent visiting Warwick today can lob in to Steele’s Bakery Cafe from 11am to chat to the players and get an autograph.

Six Lions players, including Simon Black and Mitch Clark, are in Warwick to visit Warwick East and Warwick High schools and catch up with some residents battling after the recent floods.

Steele’s are a sponsor of the Redbacks and vice president Jason Wright said the club was keen to get the players to a business hard hit by the floods.

“They will be in town for half a day,” Wright said.

The Lions have a clinic with Year nine students at Warwick High and will meet students at Warwick East.

“Some of our Redbacks juniors go to Warwick East and we hope a few more want to play the sport after the Lions visit,” he said.

Prospective AFL juniors are welcome at the March 5 sign-on at Risdon Oval from 3pm. Some junior games will be played as well as a celebrity match to raise funds for flood victims. For information call Wright on 0409 499352
