Erin's a little star in ring - with support from an old hand

WHILE little Erin Fraser might have been a first timer in the show arena at Killarney on Friday, her pony Bonzai was no such novice.

The grey mount has been steady under young show riders for almost a decade.

Erin's mum Amy said the unflappable horse had taken a swag of little children through their paces at shows and pony club events across the region.

"Bonzai is a good little horse and Erin loves riding him," she explained.

The Elbow Valley toddler, who is just two years old is already a member of the Killarney Pony Club and was pretty impressed with her wins in the lead classes at her first show.

"Actually I think Erin might have preferred the envelope of prizemoney to the ribbons," Amy laughed.

"But either way, even when it started raining she didn't want to get off her horse."

The Killarney Show duo's first competitive outing was on locals day.
