Triple Olympian Bronwen Knox will use the livestreamed Polo 5's Metro Competition to restart her preparation for the stalled Tokyo Olympics to now be held in 2021 due to the COVID-19.

The six week Polo 5 Competition is being livestreamed on this website one night a week.

Tonight, Tuesday, it is the men's turn to have their competition be livestreamed from 6pm from All Hallows' School pool, with the UQ Cream side up against the UQ Sea Cucumbers.

Then the following Monday, August 10, the women's competition is again livestreamed followed by the men (Tuesday, August 18), then women (Monday, August 26) and so on until the end of the season.

The champion Knox had contemplated retirement after the 2020 Tokyo Games were called off, but has refocused and was now full stream ahead toward Tokyo 2021.

"Being so close now, almost 12 months away, it would be silly to walk away and come up with regrets,'' Knox said.

"I just have to be really smart about my choices.

"It is going to be a big process, but it is something that will be extremely rewarding.''

The St Paul's School past student said she was excited to be back in the pool playing in the Polo 5s Competition.

She said the shorter quarters and quick pace of competition lent itself to a more social aspect which was luring people back into the sport - and even attracting fringe players.

"It involves all ages and all abilities''

She said it was great way to boost the depth of playing talent.

"I saw a couple of players in the water that I have not seen for many, many years.

"Being a short season it is easier to commit to as well as kicking some fitness around.

"It is a supplementary game without too much physical pressure. It gets your head back into it and keeps training interesting.''
