Lock's return boosts Rats

LOCK Chris McMahon returns to the Warwick Water Rats squad for the clash with USQ in A grade at Risdon Oval tomorrow. McMahon has only been able to play a handful of games this season due to work commitments.

Coach Ryan Smith plans to start the game with McMahon in his pack.

“Flanker Dave Young is out for a month with an ankle injury but I expect to field a full squad of 22,” Smith said.

“Centre Fred Walker is right to play and has recovered from a knee injury.”

USQ was undefeated early in the season and, with Goondiwindi and Bears, is among the top three teams.

Smith said if his side could step up and play to its strengths, they were a chance of pushing USQ.

“We have another home game on Saturday week against St George, then play two games in Toowoomba and host Roma at Risdon Oval in the final fixture game of the season,” Smith said.
