Looking back on ballad success

THIS year's Golden Guitarist for "Bush Ballad of the Year" Graham Rodger performed at the Tannymorel last Sunday.

Graham is a multi-award winning country music songwriter and recording artist specialising in Australian ballads.

Graham said he has been nominated in the Golden Guitar Awards for past 12 years in different categories before pulling of the big one this year with his song Looking Back of his Stronger For It All album.

Graham has a great fan base with people attending his concerts as he tours around Australia, during the colder months Graham and his wife Deidre spend around a month at Blackall where they entertain the campers around the nightly camp fire.

Ronald and Valda Tilse from Gloucester were at Tannymorel for Graham's concert last Sunday.

Ronald said they normally saw one of his shows down south but were away travelling.

They had hoped to see him at Blackall but arrived too late.

Arriving in Warwick last week, they knew his concert was coming up and decided to spent a week in the area to see the performance.

Joining Graham at Tannymorel last Sunday was upcoming artist Trevor Tolton who was a finalist in Bush Ballad Star-maker Quest at Tamworth Country Music Festival.

Trevor performed solo singing some of Slim Dusty's greatest hits and is a bush ballad artist to watch out for.

The Graham Rodger concert was organised at Tannymorel by Rainbow FM.
