Loss to South Toowoomba almost like a victory for Redbacks

REDBACKS coach Jason Wright was pleased with his side's effort in going down to South Toowoomba in Saturday's game at Rockville Oval.

"Even though we lost, it felt like a win as we were down on numbers and almost struggled to field a team," Wright said.

"There was a lack of commitment by some players but we were also hit by injuries and work commitments.

"Our players must all show the same enthusiasm and heart in the next three weeks as we prepare for a home game against Coolaroo on June 22."

The Redbacks went down 9.13. (67) to 8.8 (56)

Wright rated three of his youngest players Tim Tate, Scott See and Tyhe Clarkson as his best.

"James McKendry was very good after backing up from the under 16 game. Robert Stewart played only his second game of Aussie rules and did a great job in minimising the impact of star South Toowoomba player Jeff Neumann."

The Redbacks have two weeks off before playing Coolaroo at Roddies Oval on June 22.

Wright wants full attendance at training at Roddies Oval from 5.30pm each Tuesday and Thursday.

New players are still welcome.
