Lucky escape after overturned vehicle catches on fire

A 49-year-old Warwick man will face court on a drink driving charge after his vehicle rolled and was gutted by fire on the Old Stanthorpe Rd this afternoon.

The man and his passenger luckily got out of the ute before it caught fire just before 2pm 4km from the Warwick Saleyards and south of Morgan Park.

A Warwick police spokesman said the four-wheel drive ute was gutted by fire after the accident.

"The two people in the ute did not require medical treatment," he said.

"The fire was put out by the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service."

The man registered a blood alcohol level of .12 and will face Warwick Magistrates Court.
