Lucy wins gold in national cricket in Canberra

CRICKET: Warwick all rounder Lucy Bourke has won a gold medal at the national girls 10-12 years championships.

The Scots PGC College student was playing in her second nationals in cricket.

She was one of the best bowlers in the championships with eight wickets in five 35-over games.

Lucy took 2-12 off seven overs in the final game today. She bowled four maidens in the Victorian score of 86.

Queensland then scored the winning runs for the loss of one wicket in a round game which turned out to be a play-off for first.

The Maroons also won the boys championship in Canberra.
