Macintyre is up near top at league carnival

RUGBY LEAGUE: Macintyre and Wynnum are the only unbeaten teams after three days of the Zone 5 under-35kg rugby league carnival at Millmerran.

Macintyre defeated South Burnett 32-10 yesterday and had a 22-12 win against Charleville.

Central Downs had two wins yesterday, 14-10 against Western Downs and 34-20 against Roma.

After three days, Wynnum leads the points table from Macintyre with Central Downs third. Macintyre has already had its bye.

On Tuesday, Macintyre beat Central Downs in the battle between last year’s joint winners, a result that could be a determining factor in which team wins the carnival.

Each team will have one game on Friday and then two teams will be selected for a game between the best players from the East and West of the zone.
