Mackie talks a good game and plays his 200th

HE is a three-time premiership player, was selected on the bench in last year's All-Australian team, is part of his club's leadership group and will play game 200 against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on Sunday.

As well as being a great player, Geelong defender Andrew Mackie (pictured) is also regarded by his teammates as one of the game's great sledgers.

"Do we still get four points for beating you blokes?" he said to a North Melbourne player after the Cats easily beat the Kangaroos at Simonds Stadium one afternoon. Mackie said he didn't restrict his sharp tongue just for opponents.

"There's been a lot of times where we've ended up paying ourselves out as much as the opposition, which has been quite fun over the years," the 29-year-old said.

"Two hours is a long time out there. Sometimes you've got to have a bit of fun."
