Major changes in placings at Bathurst 12 Hour

UPDATE 1.10pm: Patrick Long is back in the Competition Motorsports team and in 11th place after 190 laps of the Bathurst 12 Hour.

Campbell has changed over to Long on the 184th lap.

The Competition Motorsports team has had seven tip stops, the least of any car in the top 15.

The Porsche that Campbell and his teammates are driving is one of four being maintained during the race by Queensland-based McElrea Racing.

UPDATE 12.03pm: Matt Campbell has the Competition Motorsports Porsche in third place in the Bathurst 12 Hour.

After 148 laps, Campbell was in 11th place but moved up to ninth after 154 laps, and 3rd after 161 laps.

Team member Alec Davison took the lead in the 6th hour of the race and led for about 15 laps before the safety car was back on the track.

The Competition Motorsports team lost ground when they pitted for the changeover from Davison to Campbell.

UPDATE 10am: Alec Davison is now driving the Competition Motorsports Porsche in the 12 hour race at Bathurst.

He was in 13th place after five hours of the race and at 10am (AEST) had moved up to 10th. Davison's team has had three pit stops, the least of any team in the top 15.

Warwick driver Matt Campbell is one of the team's four drivers.

Davison is the new driver in a team this year after Campbell, Patrick Long and David Calvert-Jones were second overall and first in class last year in the same race at Bathurst.

There have been many chances in the placings so far in this year's race.

UPDATE 8.30am: Matt Campbell and his team have moved up to 10th place in the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Race this morning.

David Calvert-Jones was driving in the second hour and at the three-hour mark Patrick Long started his first stint at the wheel.

Like every car at a pit stop, the Competition Motorsports team dropped back when Calvert-Jones changed to Long just after the first three hours.

Long was 13th at one stage in a field of 50 but has moved up to 8th after 81 laps. The race goes to 4.45pm (AEST).

UPDATE 7.45am: The Competition Motorsports team that includes Warwick driver Matt Campbell was third at the three-hour mark of the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour race.

David Calvert-Jones was in the seat at the three-hour mark. Tim Slade had his team in the lead after 65 laps.

Campbell, Calvert-Jones, Alec Davison and Patrick Long are the Competition Motorsports team.

Just after the three-hour mark, Calvert-Jones went to the pits which instantly dropped them back a little in the field of 50.

The race goes to 4.45pm (AEST) and Campbell and his team are hoping to improve on a second place finish last year.

EARLIER: The Competition Motorsports team is in fifth place early in the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour at Mt Panorama at Bathurst.

Warwick driver Matt Campbell heads the team after driving the Porsche 991 GT3 R into 10th spot in the top-10 shootout.

Starting 10th, Campbell and his team had moved up to fifth after two hours of a race that started in the dark at Bathurst on Sunday morning.

There will be a lot of driver changes during the longest race for the year at Mt Panorama.

At 6.20am (AEST) Sunday, David Calvert-Jones was at the wheel of the Competition Motorsports Porsche. Shotout winner Chaz Mostert leads in a BMW.
